Model Driven Snakes
|
Introduction:
Model driven snakes incorporate the model of the desired shape and size as a part of its minimization proces. They
are an extention of the classic active contour models and give the user additional control over the snake's shape and
behavior. Model driven snakes add new abilities, like fast adaption to desired shape or tracking of discontinious
changes in object's shape.
The following images show the influence of the shape model on the final position of the snake. While classical
snakes converge towards the point in the center of gravity, the model driven snakes converge towards the shape
of the model.
